Adrian Adams
My name is Adrian Adams, and I’m running to serve as your next Etna Township Trustee.
I’m not a career politician. I’m a substitute teacher, a neighbor, and someone who believes in common-sense leadership that puts people first and politics last.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Ohio University and years of experience working directly with families across Southwest Licking, Licking Heights, and Reynoldsburg City Schools, I’ve seen how local policy affects the real world not just spreadsheets or zoning maps.
Now, I’m stepping up to restore transparency, balance, and accountability to our township government.
Day One Agenda
On Day One, I will get to work on:
Launching Etna’s Business Scorecard System, tying TIF's to job creation, school support, safety funding, and infrastructure alignment.
Introducing a Township Transparency Portal so residents can track votes, spending, and upcoming development online.
Requiring fiscal impact assessments before any future rezoning or major development approvals.
Drafting Etna’s “Fair Growth Pledge” a voluntary agreement for businesses to commit to being good community partners.
Opening school and safety collaboration sessions to ensure growth doesn’t come at the cost of student support or emergency response times.
Scheduling regular community forums so your voice is heard before decisions are made not after.
My Broader Vision & Initiatives
Hold Developers Accountable
While townships can’t charge impact fees, we can use tools like public scorecards and conditional TIF's to ensure businesses give back to the community. No more blank checks if they want benefits, they must bring benefits.
Responsible Use of TIF's - Tax Increment Financing
Tax breaks should never be handed out without clear, enforceable standards. I’ll push for performance-based TIF's tied to things that matter: jobs, safety, schools, and infrastructure. If businesses fall short, TIF's should too.
Support for Local Schools
From zoning to TIF's, township policy shapes the future of our schools. I’ll ensure Etna’s growth benefits students, not just developers. Strong communities start with strong classrooms and that starts with smart local leadership.
Infrastructure & Public Safety First
Growth must follow infrastructure, not overwhelm it. That means road planning, safety funding, and school consultation before permits not after the damage is done.
Practical, Professional Governance
I won’t micromanage. I trust experts to do their job and if they don’t, we’ll hold them accountable. But I won’t confuse leadership with control.
My Commitment to Etna
This campaign is about real reform, legal and fiscal responsibility, and servant leadership.
I’m not tied to any developer or political party. I’m here to listen, act, and work with our community and to collaborate with fellow trustees as an equal, not above or around them.
Let’s protect what makes Etna strong, plan wisely for the future, and finally bring transparency and accountability to the table.
Because in Etna Township, it’s not about red or blue
It’s about you.
